36th Annual Cuero Turkeyfest will be held on October 10, 11, & 12 in 2008!

What do "Turkeys" have to do with it? Cuero Turkeyfest is a celebration of which the North Star, Worthington, Minnesota and the Lone Star, Cuero, Texas come together for the 2nd heat of a friendly rivalry of the GREAT GOBBLER GALLOP. You're invited to the kick-off dance on Friday that starts the weekend off. Join us at 10:00 a.m. Saturday to see which Turkey claims the title for their city as the "Turkey Capitol of the World" which takes place directly before the parade. The winning turkey receives the "Traveling Turkey Trophy of Tumultuous Triumph" to sport in their town for the next year. After the parade through downtown on Esplanade its up to the city park where the action takes place, featuring Dances and Live Entertainment under the covered pavilion. Also, for your enjoyment your guarenteed lots of Food, Beer, Arts & Crafts, Jalapeno Eating Contest, Turk Olympics, Chili Cook-Off, Barbecue Cook-Off, Washer Pitching, and Horseshoe Throwing. Discover a little history at the South Texas Wheel Spinners Tractor Show, authentic Dutch Oven Cooking and Living History. For children's activities we have a Kiddie Parade and Tractor Pull, and Carnival.
